Milk thistle contains bioflavonoid phytochemicals called silymarin which have the ability to stabilize liver hepatocyte cell membranes. Silymarin promotes protein synthesis in liver cells and this helps liver cells to regenerate. **There is insufficient reliable information regarding the use of Milk Thistle in children and while pregnant or lactating.
