MSM is an organic form of sulfur and is found in fresh animal and vegetable foods but is easily destroyed by food processing and cooking. It is NOT related to sulfa drugs or sulfite preservatives. MSM is used by the body in tissue maintenance and repair and to strengthen connective tissue. This includes joints, blood vessels, hair, skin and nails. It increases circulation, reduces inflammation and helps the body resist toxins. MSM is used for chronic pain, arthritis and joint inflammation, lupus and TMJ. Studies have shown that MSM may strongly inhibit carcinogens from forming in the body. There is insufficient evidence for use in pregnancy and lactation.
